The oomycete pathogen Hyaloperonospora arabidopsidis ( Hpa ) causes downy mildew disease on Arabidopsis . During infection, Hpa like other biotrophic pathogens, suppresses activation of plant innate immunity by translocating effector proteins into host cells.
