Rieger begonias (Begonia × hiemalis) are flowering ornamentals grown worldwide, often as bedding plants or houseplants. In March 2019, potted Rieger begonias exhibiting symptoms resembling bacterial leaf spot were found in a nursery in Nantun District, Taichung, Taiwan.
