A 303-nucleotide viroid was isolated from an apple tree (Malus × domestica, ‘Fuji') cultivated in Japan. The viroid had 84.9% overall nucleotide sequence homology to Apple dimple fruit viroid (ADFVd), a member of Pospiviroidae, reported from Italy.
