The human AAA+ ATPase CLPB (SKD3) is a protein disaggregase in the mitochondrial intermembrane space and functions to promote the solubilization of various mitochondrial proteins. CLPB deficiency by mutations is associated with a few human diseases with neutropenia and neurological disorders.
