<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> GGGGCC (G 4 C 2 ) hexanucleotide repeat expansions (HRE) in C9orf72 are the most common genetic cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
