The Stvb-i gene confers stripe disease resistance to rice. For positional cloning, we constructed a physical map spanning 1.8-cM distance between flanking markers, consisting of 18 bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clones, around the Stvb-i locus on rice chromosome 11.
