Infectious HPIV3 was produced by the intracellular coexpression of four plasmid-borne cDNAs. These separately encoded a complete HPIV3 genome (negative-sense), the HPIV3 nucleocapsid protein N, the phosphoprotein P, and the polymerase protein L.
