OBJECTIVES: Molecular genetic advances have increased the demand for DNA testing. We describe DNA based genetic counseling in a hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) family. METHODS: This extended HNPCC family was found to harbor the MSH2 germline mutation.
