Peripheral neuropathy is often associated with a monoclonal IgM and occurs in about 3% of authentic Waldenström macroglobulinemias. In at least as many cases, the neuropathy is associated with a monoclonal IgM although lymphoplasmocyte proliferation is not detected, at least initially.
