Cells of an aggressive, root-colonizing isolate of Pseudomonas putida are agglutinated by a root surface glycoprotein. The agglutination phenotype in P. putida isolate Corvallis is lacking in mutants (Agg-) derived by Tn5 insertion and chemical mutagenesis.
