Two recessive alleles of ERG10 and three temperature-sensitive recessive alleles of HMG1 (3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl-CoA reductase isoenzyme 1) were isolated in a screen for mevalonate auxotrophs in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
