A 5.0-kbp genomic EcoRI restriction fragment which complemented a third subclass of polyhydroxyalkanoic acid (PHA)-leaky mutants of A. eutrophus that accumulated PHA at a lower rate than the wild type was cloned from Alcaligenes eutrophus H16.
