The growth inhibitory mechanisms of mizoribine, an immunosuppressive imidazole nucleoside used clinically to inhibit rejection reactions after renal transplantation and in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, were studied in human and murine cells.
