Genomic DNAs of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato isolates obtained in Japan sharing different rRNA gene ribotypes were digested with rare-cutter restriction endonucleases and the fragments obtained were separated by pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE).
