The reduced expression of HLA-class II antigens (DQ and DP) and some intercellular adhesion molecules (CD11b, CD54 and CD58) was found on monocytes after phagocytosis of bacteria (S. aureus, E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. enteritidis) but not of latex particles.
