Hematological adaptation is critical for oxygen transport at high altitudes. While hemoglobin concentration is well-studied, yak (Bos grunniens) hematology versus lowland cattle remains under-explored. We analyzed blood phenotypes from 1244 plateau yaks and 154 lowland cattle.
