Human trophoblast cells play important role in embryo-fetal development. However, trophoblast cells are sensitive to environmental carcinogens. Recently, we have discovered that BPDE inhibits trophoblast cell migration, invasion and proliferation, and also increases trophoblast cell apoptosis.
