Melioidosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Burkholderia pseudomallei that is prevalent in New Caledonia. This study aimed to characterize recent human cases, evaluate the genomic diversity of circulating strains, and develop a rapid genotyping tool for local isolates.
