Genotyping-based meiotic crossover (CO) rate measurement within defined chromosomal regions typically relies on the segregation analysis of linked markers (polymorphism) in hybrid offspring populations. Pollen (male gametes) nucleus genotyping can be an alternative as pollen is abundant even from single individuals.
