Fusidic acid (FA) is an antibiotic used to treat staphylococcal infections, particularly Staphylococcus aureus. It acts by inhibiting protein synthesis through locking elongation factor G (EF-G) to the ribosome. In S. aureus, there are three mechanisms of resistance.
