OBJECTIVES: Thyroid nodules classified as atypia of undetermined significance (AUS) within the Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology (TBSRTC) present a diagnostic challenge, with a risk of malignancy (ROM) of 5% to 50%.
