BACKGROUND/AIM: Lung cancer accounts for the largest percentage of cancer deaths worldwide, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) being the predominant type. Gefitinib, an EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI), has shown marked efficacy in NSCLC patients with an EGFR mutation.
