The role of coronaviral nucleocapsid (N) protein in regulating viral translation remains poorly understood. Here, we showed that the N protein of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) enhances the translation of both virus-like genomic RNA (gRNA) and messenger RNA.
