Patients with lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma/Waldenström macroglobulinemia (LPL/WM) occasionally develop diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This mostly results from LPL/WM transformation, although clonally unrelated DLBCL can also arise.
