BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Capecitabine is an oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil. Toxicity can occur during therapy as well as acutely with overdose and particular genetic susceptibilities. Uridine triacetate is an effective antidote if given within 96 h of exposure.
