Essential thrombocythemia (ET) is a blood cancer. ET is characterized by an overproduction of platelets that can lead to thrombosis formation. Platelet overproduction occurs in megakaryocytes through a signaling pathway that could involve JAK2, MPL, or CALR proteins.
