BACKGROUND: Mutant isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) in chondrosarcoma produces the oncometabolite 2-hydroxyglutarate (2-HG) and contributes to malignant progression, and is therefore a potential therapeutic target for chondrosarcoma.
