AIMS: Renalase (RNLS) is an enzyme with monoamine oxidase activity that metabolizes circulating catecholamines. The RNLS gene Asp37Glu missense polymorphism (rs2296545) has been associated with hypertension, cardiac hypertrophy and dysfunction, and stroke.
