AIMS: Many authors do not recommend hypoglycemic treatment during pregnancy in women affected by monogenic diabetes due to heterozygous glucokinase (GCK) mutations (MODY 2) in case of affected fetus, because maternal hyperglycemia would be necessary to achieve a normal birthweight.
