Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging infectious disease that is caused by a novel bunyavirus, SFTSV. We assessed whether the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) were associated with risk to severity of SFTS.
