PTEN hamartoma tumour syndrome (PHTS) is a heterogeneous group of rare, autosomal dominant disorders associated with PTEN germline mutations. PHTS patients routinely develop hamartomas, which are benign tissue overgrowths comprised of disorganized 'normal' cells.
