PTEN hamartoma tumor syndrome refers to a spectrum of disorders caused by mutations in the phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) gene. Cowden syndrome, the principal PTEN-related disorder is characterized by multiple neoplasms and hamartomas, mucosal papillomatosis, and skin lesions, trichilemmomas.
