INTRODUCTION: AZD9291, a third-generation and mutation-selective epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), is active against patients with EGFR-mutant non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who failed prior treatment with EGFR TKIs.
