Tailoring of a micrometer-long one-dimensional (1D) array of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SNPs) was achieved by Mg(2+)-mediated supramolecular polymerization of a SNP-containing chaperonin protein (GroELMC⊃SNP).
