MUTYH-associated polyposis (MAP) is an adenomatous polyposis transmitted in an autosomal-recessive pattern, involving biallelic inactivation of the MUTYH gene. Loss of a functional MUTYH protein will result in the accumulation of G:T mismatched DNA caused by oxidative damage.
