Comamonas testosteroni (C. testosteroni) is able to catabolize a variety of steroids and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. 3,17β-Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3,17β-HSD) from C. testosteroni is a key enzyme in steroid degradation.
