Hyperunstable hemoglobinopathy (HUH) [dominantly inherited β-thalassemia (β-thal)] is a relatively rare form of congenital hemolytic anemia in which mutations occur in the genes encoding for α and β chains, or both chains of the hemoglobin (Hb) molecule.
