OBJECTIVE: For the samples in which the fetus was heterozygous for the placenta-specific 4 (PLAC4) single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), our research is to develop a rapid, accurate, and cost-effective assay for the noninvasive prenatal detection of fetal trisomy 21 (T21).
