Some R-mutant Escherichia coli and Salmonella heavily adhered to murine lymphoma cells of B cell and T cell lineages. This adhesion was primarily mediated by membrane-localized proteins on tumor cells, which bind the polymyxin B-reactive hydrophilic structure of lipis A on bacteria.
