Activating mutation in exons 19 or 21 of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in non-small-cell lung cancers (NSCLC) are associated with increased sensitivity to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs), such as gefitinib and erlotinib.
