Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is a latent, autosomal dominant inherited syndrome of skeletal musculature which results in excessive hypermetabolism induced by halogenated anesthetic agents and depolarizing muscle relaxants and is caused by an uncontrolled intramuscular calcium release.
