PURPOSE: New-onset diabetes after transplantation (NODAT) is a major complication after kidney transplantation. The risk factors for NODAT include the use of calcineurin inhibitors as part of the immunosuppressive regimen, among which tacrolimus has the most pronounced diabetogenic effect.
