N-Acylhomoserine lactones (AHLs) are used as quorum-sensing signaling molecules by many Gram-negative bacteria. Here, 413 bacterial strains were obtained from the roots of potato plants and screened for AHL-degrading bacteria using Chromobacterium violaceum reporter strains.
