NADPH: quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1) and dihydronicotinamide riboside: quinone oxidoreductase 2 (NQO2) are cytosolic enzymes that catalyze reductive activation of carcinogens from cigarette smoke, such as nitrosamines and heterocyclic amines.
