The biosynthesis and maturation of N-acetylgalactosamine-4-sulphatase (4-sulphatase) was studied in normal fibroblasts and in fibroblasts from patients with either mucopolysaccharidosis type VI (MPS VI; Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome) or multiple sulphatase deficiency (MSD).
