Mutations in glycyl-, tyrosyl-, and alanyl-tRNA synthetases (GARS, YARS and AARS respectively) cause autosomal dominant Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, and mutations in Gars cause a similar peripheral neuropathy in mice.
