PPAR involvement in cell growth was investigated "in vivo" and "in vitro" and was correlated with cell proliferation and apoptotic death. "In vivo" PPARgamma and alpha were evaluated in colon cancer specimens and adjacent nonneoplastic colonic mucosa.
