Using two types of molecular markers, a comparative analysis of the population structure of sockeye salmon from West Kamchatka as well as population assignment of each individual fish were carried out. The values of a RAPD-PCR-based population assignment test (94-100%) were somewhat higher than those based on microsatellite data (74-84%).
