Complex molecular genetic, karyological, and comparative morphological analyses of eelpouts of the genus Zoarces from the Sea of Okhotsk were carried out. Genetic heterogeneity of Z. elongatus and the existence of a considerably diverged form probably deserving of species status was discovered.
