A genome-wide linkage analysis of platelet count was carried out in a large Asian Indian kindred. Linkage analysis showed one marker (D3S1309) on chromosome 3q with a lod score of 3.26 and another (D3S1282) approximately 30 cM centromeric, with a lod score of 2.52.
